Book Reviews

     Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan

The book “The Red Pyramid” was a great book. I really liked how the siblings, Sadie and Carter take turns narrating the book. At the beginning of the story Sadie and Carter are only allowed to see each other twice a year because of their mothers’ death.

One day when Sadie and Carter are together their dad blows up the Rosetta Stone and mysteriously disappears. Sadie and Carter are blamed for the damage but are rescued by their uncle Amos. Somehow, Amos disappears and Sadie and Carter are forced to leave

In their journey Sadie and Carter discover the world of Egyptian Gods and the Duat. On their journey they discover that their cat Muffin really isn’t a cat and that they are godlings. Sadie and Carter soon find out that the world is at great risk and Set, the evil god has escaped a prison in the Duat. Now as Seth makes a plan to take over the world with a Red Pyramid it’s up to Sadie and Carter to stop him.

I really liked the Red Pyramid. My favorite part was when Sadie’s cat Muffin turns into a god and saves Sadie and Carter’s lives. The part is surprising and you would never expect it. Unlike Rick Riordans previous books The Red Pyramid relates to Egyptian mythology which is very different from Greek mythology that he used in the Percy Jackson series. Anybody who likes the Percy Jackson series would love the Red Pyramid.
