Who was the best explorer?
Who is the best __________________ is a common question that can be asked about almost anything. Our job as 5th grader researchers is to compare explorers, evaluate the information we have, and decide which explorer is best! We then need to create "something" to show others why the explorer we chose is the best one (Defending our ideas!!). Use the documents below to plan your "something". They are Microsoft Word documents, and you can save them to your computer. Remember to save them as: flastname_documentname (example: George Washington would save his Fact Sheet as... gwashington_factsheet)
Explorer Factsheet- background information sheet for you to start drafting
Explorer Comparison Sheet- three column chart for you to compare two different explorers.

Reasons for Exploring
Expanding their kingdom was one reasonwhy explorers traveled to the "New World."One way they expanded their kingdom was by bringing gold from the Americas to the kingdom. They also used flags to advertise their king and queen. Lastly, explorers convertedtribes in the Americas by using bibles. Expanding their kingdom was one of the many reasons explorers went to the "New World."
