                                 The Quartering Act

The Quartering Act was a law that the British Parliament passed. Since Great Britain was keeping thousands of soldiers in Great Britain the King wanted the colonists to help pay for the protection that they were provided. So the Quartering Act was passed. It was a law that forced the colonists to  provide places to live, food, fuel, and transportation for British Troops. The colonists were furious. They did NOT want to pay for british troops. And because of this, many colonists treated the soldiers very badly.
